My name is Bridie Macdonald and I’m a Los Angeles-based, creative director and photographer who has been creating brands, packaging and designs for other companies my entire career. I absolutely love designing for my clients, but felt the fire to create my own brand. I had planned on launching Sparkle and Paint for Fall of 2020 (just in time for holiday orders!), but then the pandemic happened.
After a month of the global crisis, it was clear that masks were going to be a thing. Just like socks and underwear, masks became something people needed to wash and wear daily, and required multiples of. So, Sparkle and Paint’s first product was born.
It’s been a challenging 2020 so far. But I see so much hope for positive change happening; hello, clear skies and good-bye air pollution around the world due to stay-at-home orders, to the amazing marches for Black Lives Matter, and push for awareness and reform of a broken system. Words are powerful. And my hope is that these positive messages adorning Sparkle + Paint masks uplifts everyone wearing them and those around them enabling us to connect with each other with kindness and care.
